Tell us about your sports and fitness background:
One of my step moms ran a karate school and I did that for a few years in my teens. I ran cross country in highschool. After college I was pretty devoted to Bikrams yoga until I hurt my back in a class. Then did pilates based physio for a year and a half to get my back set to rights along with the Alexander Technique and the Feldenkrais method.
How did you first get exposed to crossfit? Take us back to your first WOD…what was it? How did it feel?
My girlfriend at the time started coming to CFK and she would tell me these crazy stories about what went on there so I had to find out for myself. The first WOD that I can remember was 3 round 500m run 12 body weight dead lifts 15 CTB pull ups. The first run felt good then everything else felt inhumanly difficult. I was ready to quit after the first round but Fynn wouldn’t have it…so eventually I finished.
What sort of changes have you seen in your body,health and fitness since starting CF?
CF has changed everything. I never thought I would be able to do the things that I can do now. I am stronger and faster than I have ever been. Ever. Me at thirty would destroy me at any other age at anything. Side note: since I change my diet I haven’t really been sick either.
What sort of changes in your life have you experienced out of taking on something like crossfit that were totally unexpected?
CF has changed how I look at challenging situation. What ever it is my attitude is now like ” you’ve done the filthy fifty or fran (or whatever other wod you can name) how hard is ANYTHING else?”.

It think it awesome when people smacktalk the equipment. Especially if they don’t care if anyone can hear.
Any advice for people just getting started?
Its like AA, take it one workout at a time and keep coming back. It works if you work it.
What are your hobbies, interests and or talents outside of CF?
Dog brother Martial Arts is fun ( and if you see me bruised up thats probably what did it.). Also I like to drink. Bourbon preferably. OR Islay single malts.
