CrossFit Kitsilano is a world-class fitness facility in the heart of Kitsilano in beautiful Vancouver, British Columbia. We teach classes using functional exercises, athletic conditioning, plyometrics, kettlebell training, olympic weightlifting, medicine ball and dumbbell training, powerlifting, gymnastics, rowing, running and jumping rope. Our students come from all types of fitness backgrounds, and include students, business executives, stay-at-home moms, athletes, soldiers, and grandparents.
We utilize the CrossFit methodology as our primary training method, and focus our students on optimizing physical competence in each of ten recognized fitness domains (Cardio-respiratory endurance, Stamina, Strength, Flexibility, Power, Speed, Coordination, Agility, Balance, and Accuracy.) The workouts provided are always varied and the results are dramatic. We provide an atmosphere of camaraderie and teamwork and if you are ready to work hard, we will provide you with the tools and know-how to get you in the best shape of your life.

What is CrossFit?
CrossFit is an extremely efficient and effective way to get into world-class shape. Our workouts consist of constantly varied, functional movements (like pushing, pulling, squatting, lifting, running) executed at high intensity in a group setting. In short, a fun, friendly, high-intensity boot camp…with weights!
How are we different?
At CrossFit Kitsilano, we challenge you to use your brain as well as your muscles. We require you to challenge yourself on a daily basis, and master new things you have never thought you could do. Being focused and present is a must while learning how to move your body with proper mechanics, stability, balance and agility.
At CrossFit Kitsilano, you will not find rows of stationary bikes and weight machines. Instead you will find pull-up bars, kettlebells, barbells and wide open space for squatting, running, jumping, climbing, lifting and throwing – moving your body the way it is meant to be moved. It means that all your workouts will be comprised of exercises that mimic movements performed in day-to-day life or sport. You would never bicep curl your child to pick them up, so why would you do it in the gym? We focus on improving functional movements that are necessary and common in your daily activities.
It also means that you will never get bored. With our constantly varied programming you will rarely do the same workout twice in any given year. You will never have to program your own workouts or spend hours in the gym. Instead, each day a workout will be provided for you that is scalable to suit your fitness level. And because our workouts are rarely longer than 40 minutes they can fit into even the busiest schedules.
Ever since I committed to Crossfit and an improved diet in 2007, I haven't been sick or injured since. While everyone around me broke legs and ankles on parachute jumps, I walked away unscathed. When everyone in my Fire Academy class passed around the flu, I was healthy. Not only that, but I firmly believe Crossfit helped keep me alive during some dicey days overseas. Crossfit turned my life around in more ways than one, and I'm happy to be able to pass on what I know to others when I can.
